  4. Use Copy result to paste your age anywhere, or Clear to start over.

How is age calculated?

Your age is the number of full years since you were born, and it goes up by one on every birthday. This calculator goes further and also counts the full months and the remaining days since your last birthday. It works the way a calendar does: it adds as many whole months to your date of birth as will fit, then counts the days left over. That is why months of 28, 30 or 31 days and leap years never throw the result off.

age = date − date of birth (full years + full months + remaining days)

An example

Someone born on May 12, 1992 is 34 years, 5 months and 15 days old on October 27, 2026: they turned 34 on May 12, 2026, five more months take them to October 12, and 15 days remain until October 27. Try this example.

Age in months, weeks, days and hours

A baby’s age is usually given in weeks or months, and vaccination schedules and growth charts work the same way, so the result also shows your age in total months and total weeks. Total days is how many days you have been alive, and the calculator tells you the date of your next 1,000-day milestone. Your 10,000th day, for example, arrives at about 27 years and 4 months. Hours are simply the days times 24; the time of birth is not taken into account.

Next birthday and February 29

You also see the date of your next birthday, the weekday it falls on and how many days are left, while the bar shows how much of the year since your last birthday has passed. If you were born on February 29, your birthday is counted on February 28 in years that are not leap years. Some countries use March 1 for legal purposes, so check the rules if the exact day matters.

Age on a specific date

Change the date to find your age on any day in the past or future. It answers questions like “how old will I be when I apply?” for school enrollment, a driver’s license, an exam or retirement, where age limits apply on a specific date. To count the days between any two dates, or the age difference between two people, use the Days Between Dates calculator.

Zodiac sign and the day you were born

From your date of birth the calculator also finds your Western sun sign and the day of the week you were born. Sign boundaries can move by a day from year to year, so if you were born on a cusp, check the table next to the calculator.

Everything is calculated in your browser. Your date of birth is never sent anywhere; it is only kept on this device for your next visit.
